About the Federation of University Employees

Local 34 is closely allied with other labor unions on campus as part of the Federation of University Employees. Yale’s service and maintenance workers are represented by UNITE HERE Local 35. Yale’s graduate teachers in GESO, the Graduate Employees and Students Organization, are seeking union recognition. Our organizations have a long history of solidarity and strength together that dates back to Local 34′s organizing drive and founding in the early 1980s, which was supported by Local 35.
