In our Contract Survey last year, Local 34 members set short-term disability insurance as a priority. We worked hard to negotiate a voluntary plan provided by AFLAC.
A joint union-management team selected AFLAC because it offered the best package among several carriers we considered. Our team negotiated the best short-term disability package available at a reasonable cost.
During the initial enrollment period, over 500 Local 34 and Local 35 members attended info sessions, and 335 members signed up for coverage.
