Dear Sisters, Brothers, and Local 34 Members,
We hope you are all well and doing your best to remain so. For those of us who are currently battling COVID-19, know that our collective strength is behind you. Get well soon!
Tomorrow is March 31, the previous end date of our agreement with Yale to provide work from home arrangements and setting pay provisions for those returning to campus to work in critical functions.
You may have seen the letters we sent to President Salovey requesting that Yale fully close campus for four weeks and then reassess the situation. Additionally, we’ve been meeting with a number of Yale’s Vice Presidents to advocate that current pay provisions remain in place. We are happy to announce that the current policies in place will remain so until April 30.
For those of you working from home, over the last two weeks we have heard of many issues. We have been working to improve Yale’s policies that were initially rolled out. If you have any issues that you’d like us to know about, please reply to this email.
As we mentioned in our last update if you know of those who are not receiving our emails, please direct them to local34.org/emailsignup. If you’d like to receive our text blasts, send local34 to 877877, Message & Data Rates May Apply.
In Solidarity,
Laurie Kennington, President Local 34–UNITE HERE!
